We highly recommend this tour because it's a full day adventure guided by some of the nicest people we have ever met. We got to see the animals at Ranua zoo which Alex(our guide) was very knowledgeable about. Afterwards, we went to the cabin which is situated in the most beautiful place, in the middle of the forest with a lake in front of it. There we met Tanya, who was extremely nice and told us how the sauna and ice floating works. We tried ice floating for the first time and it was a fun, relaxing experience. They even let us climb on the ice and play around. We got to cross sauna and ice dipping off our bucketlist and it was amazing. Afterwards we ate dinner together(salmon smoked by Tanya herself) and we chatted about different finnish traditions and customs. All in all it was the best way to end our trip to Lapland and we highly recommend you try this experience!
We were two friends trying this "Best of Lapland"-experience in February 2021 - and I can only give my absolute warmest recommendations. It was amazing to experience the real Finnish wood-burning sauna (a traditional sauna from the 70s, and in beautiful condition), and then to jump in the lake to cool down. Unfortunately we didn't see any Northern Lights, but the night was still beautiful, and the surroundings of the small cottage were so amazing, quiet and isolated. We also had a very nice Lappish dinner, the beetroot salad was to die for ;-) and Tanya and Alex were telling us a lot about Lapland, the area, the conditions all year round before we were taken back to Rovaniemi and dropped off at our hotel. A great experience all around.
It was stunning experience: real old sauna, next to lake shore, surrounding by winter Finnish nature! And diving into the frozen lake - strongly recommended! ;)
Everything was perfect!! Nice place and tasty food. Beautiful landscape surrounding the Frozen lake. One of the vest experiences in Finland!
Amazing experience, it was perfect for our family, we were looking for a sauna/ice-swimming experience, but having a 9 year old and 2 year old, our options were limited, until we found this trip. My husband and eldest daughter were able to do the sauna & swim, whilst I played in the snow with our youngest, there was also a lodge where we could go if we wanted to. Then we swapped and I had a turn! Finished off with delicious food and hospitality. Once in a lifetime experience, now ticked off the bucket list… but would love to do it again!
Authentic sauna experience with a refreshing dip in the frozen lake. Followed by delicious food in the cabin. Tanja and Alex were great hosts.
Communication was excellent, transport for pick up was perfectly on time. Everything promised on the website was delivered without any issue.
This was an experience like no other, hosted by the wonderful couple Alex & wife Tanja. Myself and my two teenagers were welcomed to the most magical, lit up private lake where we donned the very flattering Flotation suits, and dipped right into the 0 degree lake 🥶and floated peacefully looking up at the stars🌟⭐. We had plenty of time to just float or attempt to climb out onto the snow area for snow angels. Alex and Tanja brought us into there warm home and we roasted marshmallows, had warm Berry juice and gingerbread biscuits, a staple of the Finnish diet 😂. This adventure was top of my list on our visit to Lapland and it exceeded my expectations. Thanks to Alex & Tanja for making it so personable
This tour was FANTASTIC!Booking was easy and confirmation of pick up times were clear. Our guide (Alex) picked us up on time and gave us lots of great information about the area on our way to the tour.We received a very friendly welcome by Alex and his wife to their home, the facilities were very authentic. The location was out of this world! The sauna was fantastic with lots of amenities in the changing area too like towels, flip flops, hot and cold drinks.Highly recommend the ice swimming then popping back into the sauna afterwards! We had 2 hours to dip between the swimming and sauna before a lovely lunch was prepared for us in the cabin with a warm fire.A 5* tour with 5* hosts - highly recommend.
We did the Aurora Arctic Ice Floating (at night). My wife talked me into the excursion as I wasn't sure I'd enjoy it. It was snowing when we went, so we weren't able to see any Aurora. Despite that, the experience was unique and relaxing yet still exhilarating (jumping into the frozen lake), and just overall awesome. Our guide Alex was amazing and took great care of us from suiting up to joining us for a bit, making a fire, preparing snacks, etc. The cabin time (fire, cookies, hot berry juice, friendly conversation) was a great wrap-up to the experience. I highly recommend this excursion!
